Connecting WordPress in 5 Minutes

Follow this step-by-step guide to connect your WordPress site.

Prerequisites

  • WordPress 5.6 or higher
  • Administrator access
  • REST API enabled (default on WordPress)

Step 1: Generate Application Password

  1. Log in to your WordPress Admin
  2. Go to Users > Your Profile
  3. Scroll down to "Application Passwords"
  4. Enter "BlogFlux" as the name
  5. Click "Add New Application Password"
  6. Copy the generated password (it only shows once!)

⚠️ Important

Save your Application Password immediately. WordPress won't show it again!

Step 2: Add Connection in BlogFlux

  1. Go to Dashboard > WordPress Connections
  2. Click "Add New Connection"
  3. Fill in the details:
    • Site URL: https://yoursite.com
    • Username: your-admin-username
    • Application Password: paste the password
  4. Click "Test Connection"
  5. If successful, click "Save"

Step 3: Verify Connection

You should see a green checkmark next to your connection. Now you can publish posts directly from BlogFlux!

🔧 Troubleshooting

  • Connection failed: Check your URL format (must include https://)
  • Authentication error: Verify username and password
  • Timeout error: Check if your WordPress REST API is enabled
